Early Bands: Foss / Los Dregtones / The Fall On Deaf Ears
Cedric played drums in his earliest bands and continued in De Facto and Anywhere.
AT THE DRIVE-IN
While not really known as a 'guitarist', Cedric still played a fair bit and even wrote some of the guitar parts on At The Drive-In's albums. Here he is with a Gibson SG Jr. (a pelham blue 90s model) for Rolodex Propaganda. He also played acoustic guitar in his Zavalaz project which was never finished.
In the intro to Arcarsenal, Cedric plays maracas.
Next to Tony's drum kit is Cedric's "station" which is where he keeps his maracas, effects (For his voice), and his melodica (in the 2012 reunion he used a Hohner-brand Fire Melodica - the red one).
Looks like there is a Boss DD-5, Boss VT-1 Voice Transformer, Boss PS-2(unconfirmed), plus another unknown effect with 3 large switches on it.
ATDI & THE MARS VOLTA (early years)
ATDI interludes and Frances the Mute demos were recorded on Tascam 4-track according to Cedric's instagram. It could've been any model but Tascam seems to be the brand of choice.
Here is Omar with the same model Portastudio (Tascam 424 MK III):
THE MARS VOLTA - DELOUSED ERA
For the album, Cedric's clean vocals were recorded with a Shure SM7 mic with a Shure SM57 mic taped to it. The audio from the SM57 was fed to Jeremy's board for live sound manipulation. Neumann U67 was used for quieter vocals, and the SM7 was used again for louder overdubs. For preamp and EQ, the Neve 1073 was used along with a Neve 1176 for compression.

Here is the late Jeremy Ward's sonic manipulation board from The Mansion used to treat Cedric's vocals:
(2x) Electro-Harmonix Frequency Analyzer, (2x) Boss DD-5 Digital Delay, (2x) Guyatone MD-3 Micro Digital Delay, DOD DFX 9 Delay, Boss VB-2 Vibrato, Yamaha QY-100 Sequencer, Korg KAOSS Mixer (KM-2)
Paul/Pablo would take over this role when he joined TMV.
THE MARS VOLTA - FRANCES THE MUTE ERA
The vocal effect on Cassandra Gemini that starts 1 minute in ("There was a frail syrup...") was created with a particularly rare rackmount FX unit - Symbolic Sound Capybara 320.
At the Weenie Fest, Cedric played with a typewriter while the rest of the band was jamming. He claimed to have written the lyrics to "their new single" as a way to appease the demands that the festival wanted them to play hits and singles only. It wasn't amplified.
THE MARS VOLTA - Amputechture to Octahedron Era
Cedric's main live microphone for these years was an Audix OM6, placed inside the shell of a Sennheiser 421 (painted white).

THE MARS VOLTA - Noctourniquet Era
A chrome Telefunken M80 - Cedric's main microphone on the Noctourniquet tour. Obvious signs of wear. It was eventually sold to raise money for victims of violent crimes charities.
ANYWHERE
For the band Anywhere, Cedric returned to drums and also included an Indian drum machine - the Riyas Master Professional (used on the track "Pyramid Moses"). He also used this instrument on his solo track, "Live Private Booths" as Alavaz Relxib Cirdec.

THE MARS VOLTA (2022 reunion)
Cedric returned to using his favouite live mic, the Telefunken M80. One model in chrome, with the other in black with a gold cap (to match the band's visual black-and-gold aesthetic)
